About EMS

EMS will be instructed by EMTs, Paramedics, Navy Hospital Corpsmen, and other medical professionals.  The focus will be on emergency medicine, including CPR, AED, splinting, shock, controlling bleeding, immobilizing patients, and lifting & moving patients.  Every EMS student will be certified in CPR and the use of Automated External Defibrillators.  Students will need to complete an online CPR pre-training at their own expense ($30) prior to attending the training (see instructions below to access the training site).  Completed certificates shall be emailed to the Training Officer frank.sanseverino@squadron7zulu.org no later than 20 December 2019.  If you have a CPR card already, please send a copy of it to me to see if it satisfies the requirement).

While at training, students should expect to read between 75 and 100 pages each night, have 5-8 hours of lecture each day, and spend 2-4 hours each day practicing their newly-acquired skills.

The document attached below contains the step by step instructions to complete the online prerequisite course.

NOTE: There is no time to complete the online training course at the training site; you will be turned away if you don't bring this certificate.

All Cadets who believe they've already taken this course need to scan both the front and back of the card and email the Training Officer at frank.sanseverino@squadron7zulu.org for review.  The card must state that first aid was a module that was taught. If not approved you must take the above course prior to coming to EMS.
